2.Animalswhicharetoosmall(suchasmiceorornamentalfish),toobig(theircagesizeexceedsthemaximumvolumelimitation),ormayposeriskstotransportationaswellaswildanimals,creatureswitharepulsiveappearance,andoffensiveanimals(suchassnakes)arenotconsideredtobesmallanimalsandcannotbetransportedasbaggage.
3.Short-nosedcaninesandfelinesaswellasaggressivebreedsoftheseanimalscannotbecarriedontoaflight
Theaggressivedogbreedsandbreedsofshort-nosedfelinesandcaninesthatareprohibitedfromusingluggagetransportationareasfollows:
Short-nosedfelines：Burmese、Exoticshorthaircats、Persian、Himalayan、BritishShorthairCats.
Short-nosedcanines：Affenpinscher、BostonTerrier、Boxers(allbreeds)、BrusselsGriffin、Bulldog(allbreeds)、BullTerrier、Pug(allbreeds)、CaneCorso、ChowChow、DoguedeBordeaux、EnglishToySpaniel、JapaneseChin/JapaneseSpaniel/ChinChin、CavalierKingCharlesSpaniel、LhasaApso、Mastiff(allbreeds)、Pekinese、PresaCanario、SharPei、ShihTzu、TibetanSpaniel、AmericanBully、YankeeTerrier、GullTer、StaffordshireTerrierr.
4.Allsmalllivingcreaturesbeingtransportedascheckedbaggagemustbetransportedinacontainerthatallowsoxygentocirculateandreachthecreature(notapplicabletoguidedogs,hearingdogs).Anycreatureswhicharenotsuitedtoajourneyintheaircraft’sbaggageholdwillnotbetransported.
5.Passengersshouldbearfullresponsibilityforthesmallanimalswhichtheytransportonaflight.ChinaSouthernAirlineswillnotbeheldliablefortheillness,injury,ordeathofasmallanimalunlessitiscausedbytheactionsoftheairlineitself.
1.Totransportsmallanimals,passengersmustsubmittheirapplicationsatthetimeofreservation(atleast24hoursbeforeflightdepartureondomesticflights,andatleast72hoursbeforeflightdepartureoninternationalflights),andobtainthereplyofCSN.
2.Someindividualsmallaircraftcannotcarrymorethanthreesmallanimalsatatime.TheactualrestrictionsonthenumberwhichmaybecarriedonboardmustbeconfirmedwiththeEngineeringDepartmentofChinaSouthernAirlines.
3.Eachpassengercanonlycarryonesmallanimaloronepairofbirdsintheircheckedbaggageoninternationalflights(dependingontheentryandexitregulationsofthedepartinganddestinationcountries).Eachsmallanimalshouldbeplacedinasinglecage,whileapairofbirdscanbeplacedinthesamecage.
4.Thecagesizeusedtotransportasinglesmallanimalmustnotbelargerthan90x60x66cmorsmallerthan5x15x20cm.Themaximumweightshouldnotexceed32kg.
5.Ifthebaggagestorageareaontheaircraftmodelusedforaflightisnotsuitablefortransportingsmalllivingcreatures,passengerscannotapplytohavetheiranimalstransported.Groundpersonnelmustcheckthattheaircraftmodelbeingusedforaflightissuitableforcarryingasmalllivingcreatureonboardbeforeagreeingtodoso.
6.ChinaSouthernAirlinescannotcurrentlycarrysmalllivingcreaturesonconnectingflights.
7.Smalllivingcreaturesbroughtonboardbypassengersmustbeingoodhealth,harmless,clean,andnothaveapungentodor.Pregnantanimalsmaynotbebroughtonboard.
8.Passengersshouldtaketheirsmallanimalstotheairportforcheck-in120minutesbeforetheirflightdeparturetime.
9.Passengerswhocheckinadogorcatmustsignawaiverofliabilityforthetransportationoftheiranimal.
1.ChinaDomesticflights:Passengersmustpresentananimalquarantinecertificatefromaquarantinedepartmentatcounty(orregional)levelorabove.
2.HongKong/Macau/Taiwan,China/Internationalflights:
A.“CertificateofQuarantine”and“CertificateofRabiesImmunization”issuedbythedepartmentresponsibleforplantandanimalimmunizationinthePeople'sRepublicofChina;
B.Adepartureandarrivalscardortransitpermit;
C.Anyadditionaldocumentationrequiredbythedestinationortransitingcountries(pleaserefertoTIMfornationalregulations).
Note:Someairports(suchasHongKong，China)onlyallowsmalllivingcreaturestoarriveordepartascargo.Pleasecheckthiscarefullybeforeyoudepart.
Smallanimalsmustbekeptinasuitableandsturdycarriermadeofmetal,toughplastic,orwood.Thecarrierusedmustalsomeetthefollowingrequirements:
(1)Thecarriershouldbeusedspecificallyforcheckinginpetsontoaflight.Itmustbemadeofsturdymaterials,withafixedtopandventilationonatleastthreesides.Thedoormustbelockableandmadeofmetaltopreventpetsfromescaping.
(2)Allpartsandaccessoriesofthecarrier(includingthenuts,latches,rivets,andlocks,etc.)mustbestrongandingoodworkingorder.
(3)Thebaseofthecrateshouldbeflatandmustbeabletobekeptstationaryonanevensurface.Ifacratewithwheelsisused,itswheelsshouldbefixedorremovedinadvancetopreventthecratefrommoving.
(4)Smallanimalssufferingfromaninfectiousdiseasewillnotbeacceptedfortransport.Forinternationaltransportofsmallanimals,passengersshouldpresenttheQuarantineCertificateandRabiesVaccinationCertificateissuedbytheAnimalandPlantQuarantineDepartmentofthePeople’sRepublicofChina,anEntry/ExitorTransitPermitaswellasanyotherdocumentsrequiredbythecountrywhichthesmallanimalwillenterortransitthrough.
5.Cagesusedforanimaltransportationmusthaveanabsorbentmat(suchasatowelorblanket)placedonthebottomtopreventurineandfecescomingintocontactwithotherbaggage.
(1)Whenland-basedanimalssuchasdogsandcatsarecheckedin,aprotectivenetshouldbeusedtolineandfastentheircarrierbeforetheanimalisplacedinside.
(2)Whenapackingbeltisused,itshouldbindthecarrierevenlyinagridshapewithspacingofbetween20to30cmused.
(3)Topreventthecarriertippingoverandagitatingyourpet,thecarriershouldbepackedusingbindingbeltsonitssidesinaverticalandhorizontalstyle.Tomakethepackagemoresecure,thesebeltsshouldpassthroughthedoorandprotectivegridonthecarrier.Thebeltsgoingthroughthegridsshouldbeeventosecurelyfastenthedoor,thebody,andtheprotectivenet.
Passengerswhohavecheckedananimalontoaflightshouldremembertofeed,water,andexercisetheiranimalateverystopduringtheentirelengthoftheirjourney.

(2)Servicedogs(alongwiththeircontainerandfood)aretransportedfreeofchargeanddonotcounttowardanyfreebaggageallowances.
1.Servicedogs(includingsupportdogs,guidedogsandhearingdogs)refertospecialdogsthatassistthelivingandworkingofdisabledpersons;
2.Thetransportationofservicedogsshallfollowtheregulationsapplicabletosmallanimals(pets).UnderthepremiseofcompliancewiththetransportationconditionsofChinaSouthernAirlines,servicedogsmaybebroughtintothecabinbydisabledpersonsfortransportation,whichshallbeindicatedonpassengers’boardingpasses;
3.Servicedogstobebroughtintothecabinshouldwearmuzzlesanddraglinesbeforeboarding,andstayatthefeetorkneesofthedisabledpersonsduringflight,andmaynotoccupyseatsandruninthecabin;
4.DeclaringBaggageValueisinapplicabletoservicedogs.
AccordingtoAnnouncementNo.5[2019]oftheGeneralAdministrationofCustoms,P.R.ChinaAnnouncementonFurtherRegulatingtheSupervisionofPetImportationandQuarantine,petimportationatallportsofentrywillbesubjecttonewquarantineregulations,effectiveonMay1,2019.Inthiscontext,ChinaSouthernAirlineskindlyremindsyouthat:
I.Onlydogsorcatsareallowedforimportation(includingservicedogsforthedisabled),andonlyonepetperpassengerisallowed.
II.ValidquarantinecertificateandrabiesvaccinationcertificateissuedbyanofficialanimalquarantineorganoftheexportingcountryorregionshallbepresentedtotheChinacustomsforpetimportation.
III.PetsmusthavemicrochipsthatmeettheinternationalstandardsofISO11784and11785.The15-bitmicrochipcodeshallcontainonlynumbersandmustbereadablewithareader.Foranynon-compliantmicrochip,thepetownermayprepareareadertoreadtheimplantedchip.
IV.Petsshallbeunder30-dayisolationandquarantineinaquarantinestationdesignatedbythecustomsexceptforthefollowingcircumstanceswherepetsareexemptfromisolationandquarantine:
(I)Petsarrivefrom19designatedcountriesorregions,i.e.,NewZealand,Australia,Fiji,FrenchPolynesia,USA(HawaiiandGuamonly),Jamaica,Iceland,UnitedKingdom,Ireland,Liechtenstein,Cyprus,Portugal,Sweden,Switzerland,Japan,Singapore,HongKongSAR(China),andMacaoSAR(China),holdvalidmicrochipsandpasson-sitequarantine.
(II)Petsarrivefromnon-designatedcountriesorregions(anycountriesorregionsotherthanthedesignatedones),holdvalidmicrochipsandrabiesantibodytestreport(bloodtiterorantibodyamountmustbeabove0.5IU/ml)fromanapprovedlaboratory,andpasson-sitequarantine.
(III)Guidedogs,hearingdogsorrescuedogsholdvalidmicrochips,aswellascorrespondingownercertificateandprofessionaltrainingcertificate,andpasson-sitequarantine.

VI.Incaseofanynon-compliantimportationforwhichpetsarereturnedordestroyedbythecustomswithinaspecifiedperiod,ChinaSouthernAirlinesshallnotassumeanyresponsibilitythereof.
