27、thisgoesagainstthewastehierarchyprinciplesandimpactsourcirculareconomy.TheIndustryalsoasksthatfeedadditivesareapprovedwithoutdisproportionatedatarequirements,thatweareincludedandengagedintheregulatoryprocessforadditivereviewandfuturefeedlegislationupdates.3.Su

38、ightedthatFEDIAFsNutritionalGuidelinesoutlineallthespecificnutritionalrequirementsofpetsbasedontheirlifestage,healthstatus,andactivitylevels.FEDIAFtakesgreatprideinitsroleinproducingthesecomprehensiveFeedingGuidelines,whicharewrittenandpeer-reviewedbyaScientifi

39、cAdvisoryBoard(SAB)comprisingindependentboard-certifiedveterinarynutritionistsveterinarianspossessingexpertiseinnutrition.DRIVINGSUSTAINABILITYFROMFARMTOBOWLDuringthisperiod,wehavebeenactivelyinvolvedindiscussionssurroundingtheGreenClaimsDirectiveandthePackagingandPa

40、ckagingWasteRegulation(PPWR)proposal.SinceourpartnershipwiththeEuropeanCommissioninthedevelopmentofPerformanceEnvironmentalFootprintCategoryRulesforPEF(PEFCRs)in2018,weveremaineddedicatedtorefiningthismethodology,whichassessestheenvironmentalimpactofpetfoodproducts

41、acrosstheirlifecycle.Thistakesintoaccountthepetfoodindustrysuniquecharacteristics,suchastheuseofanimalby-products.WewillcontinuetoadvocateforPEFCRs,astheyenableinformeddecision-makingtoimproveenvironmentalperformanceandfacilitateconsumerproductcomparisons,promoti

42、ngsustainablepurchasinghabits.AsforthePackagingandPackagingWasteRegulation(PPWR),whileweendorseaReduce,Reuse,Recyclestrategy,itsessentialtoensurethatreusetargetsalignwithregulationsmandatingnewpackagingforpreparedpetfood,strikingabalancebetweenenvironmentalgoalsa
