通过阅读介绍历史上的著名探险家为导入话题的材料，和科幻小说《海底两万里》的改编选段，训练学生的基本阅读技能，包括：略读（skim）、寻读（scan）、细读（detailed-Reading）等。难点有两个：一是运用主题词汇进行小组讨论，就旅游话题进行交流；二是读写结合，运用所学语言进行写作训练（课外延伸）。
通过大量听说训练和交际教学，掌握语法过去将来时的表达形式和用法。
