TwoyearsafterBeijingsuccessfullyhostedthe2008SummerOlympics,Shanghai,theotherChineseinternationalmetropolis,heldtheExpo2010withgreatsuccess.Itfulfilledthecentury-cherisheddreamoftheChinesepeopletoenjoythe"WorldExpo"attheirdoorsteps.

Inamere30years,"Lujiazui,"adesertedlandformedbyabendintheriver,hasgrownintoagloballyrenownedfinancialhubfulloftoweringskyscrapersablazewithlights.

Fiveyearsago,theChina(Shanghai)PilotFreeTradeZone(FTZ)wasestablishedinPudong.

AccordingtostatisticsreleasedbytheMinistryofCommerce,asoftheendofJune2018,56,000newenterpriseswereestablishedinthePilotFTZ,1.5timesthenumberofnewlyestablishedenterprisesinthesameregionduringthepast20years.

Morethan10,000foreign-fundedenterpriseswerenewlyestablished,accountingfor20percentofthetotalnumberofenterprises,upfrom5percentattheinceptionoftheFTZ.Theaccumulativetotalforeigninvestmentreached23billionUSdollars.

InJulyofthatyear,ShanghaiannouncedtheestablishmentoftheHongqiaoBusinessDistrictAdministrationCommittee.AregionintegratingfourdistrictsofMinhang,Changning,JiadingandQingpuandcovering86squarekilometerswasidentifiedasanewbusinessdistrictfacingtheYangtzeRiverDeltaandservingthewholecountry.
