1.ImadethemascreativeandcleverasIcould,commentingonthesportsnewsoftheday,andlettingthemknowhowgreatafitIthoughtIwasfortheirstaff.
“commentingon…”
Paraphrase:Itriedmybesttomakethemcreativeandclever,commentingonthesportsnewsoftheday,andlettingthemknowhowgreatafitIthoughtIwasfortheirstaff.
2.Andsecondofall,theyprovedtomethatyouwantedthepositionmorethantheothercandidatesdid.
Paraphrase:Andsecondofall,theyprovedtomethatcomparingwithothercandidates,youwantedthepositionmost.
3.Thereasontheywouldn'thiremewasbecauseIhadnoexperience.
参考美国传统词典because词条的UsageNote:Atraditionalruleholdsthattheconstruction“thereasonisbecause”isredundant,andshouldbeavoidedinfavorof“thereasonisthat.”Theusageiswellestablished,however,andcanbejustifiedbyanalogytoconstructionssuchas“Hispurposeincallingherwassothatshewouldbeforewarnedofthechangeinschedule”or“ThelasttimeIsawherwaswhenshewasleavingforcollege”.Allthreeconstructionsaresomewhatlessthangraceful,however.

6.motivatevt.
